Anyone else excited about the second stage at Albany Lakes? I know I am

Today I got to do a site tour and chat with the contractors about what they are doing. Kyle from council took me around and showed me the progress to date which really impressed me.

So far things are going well. They started in August and will be done in October.

For those like me who forgot exactly what was being put in, I got a list from the team to help:

Stage 2 works include

Shade structure

Feature 8m play tower

Shelter & BBQ’s

New connection pathways

MSB and conduits for future pathway lighting

New waste bins

Drinking fountain and bike racks

Sandstone terrace seating

Sewer connection for future amenities

Park furniture

Soft landscape works

Although a lot of upgrades have gone in to make this the best park in Sippy Downs, I know many are keen to see toilets installed. Toilets are in stage 3 (the next stage) and I will continue to advocate for additional funds to make this happen.

This said, we’ve managed to get the sewer, water and power ready so toilets will be much easier to install when we push go.

All in all, I’m proud of the team for making this happen and I’m glad to be a part of it.

I’m confident this will be a great community asset as we head into the Christmas holidays.
