Several sections of road around Chancellor Village Shopping Centre (Chancellor Village Boulevard and the entrance road to the centre) will be resealed next week as part of council’s Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program.
The work will be done at night, between 6pm-5am, to minimise inconvenience to residents and businesses, starting on Sunday June 18 and continuing until June 22 (note: this was rescheduled from Sunday June 11-14 due to forecast weather wet as this work is weather dependent).
Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson said there would be traffic controllers on site during work.
“A lot of people travel through this area each day, so it’s important these roads are maintained to a high standard and this work will achieve that,” Cr Dickson said.
“It’s also important we minimise disruption to those people, which is why we’re doing this work at night.
“Please follow the directions of traffic controllers and be patient when travelling through the area, for your safety and that of the people working on the road.”
You can view the schedule of upcoming road reseals on council’s website.
Council maintains more than 2200 kilometres of roads across the region through its Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program to ensure they are safe for motorists.
Through this program, council repairs road failures, improves the road surface, and renews line marking - all to ensure the region has safe and high quality local roads. In 2016/17 the $23 million program includes more than 80 kilometres across 193 roads.
